Getting there - kenya

Arrival and Departure City: Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (code NBO)

Students may fly on their own, or they will have the option to travel with a chaperone — details to be determined. At most one night will be spent in Nairobi before driving 5 hours to Northern Kenya where the rest of the trip will take place on the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and neighboring conservancies.

Prior to departure, all students will receive extensive and detailed travel information, including a packing list and a day by day itinerary.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Visas may be required for entry. Please inquire for the latest updates.

    Entry visas for Kenya must be acquired online in advance (IMPORTANT: be careful of fake websites ! )

  • Fully comprehensive travel and medical insurance is necessary. Emergency evacuation coverage is mandatory. Please inquire for more information.

  • Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after departure date, and they must have at least two blank pages

  • No vaccinations are required for entry to Kenya if not traveling from / spending more than 12 hours in a country where Yellow Fever is endemic. Honeyguide Safaris can offer general suggestions, but please refer to Center for Disease Control for recommendations, or ask your travel doctor.

  • If the chaperones feel that a student is behaving inappropriately and is being unsafe, they can send the student home at the family’s expense. See Terms & Conditions with Student Conduct Agreement.
